The annual outdoor music festival returns to Piedmont Park with Maroon 5 as the headliner after the global pandemic forced postponement.
ATLANTA — After a quiet year off while the nation quarantined during the COVID-19 global pandemic, Music Midtown returns to Piedmont Park, Sept. 18 and 19, with Maroon 5 as the main attraction.
Other top artists scheduled for the yearly outdoor cross-cultural music festival include Miley Cyrus, the Jonas Brothers, 21 Savage, Machine Gun Kelly, Megan Thee Stallion, Jack Harlow, Da Baby, The Black Pumas, and Yungblud.
Maroon 5 posted the band’s elation over booking the late summer gig to its social media.

The festival was postponed last year because of the pandemic, and organizers offered 2020 Music Midtown ticket holders the option of a refund or access to this year’s festival. Last year was the first time the event had not been in Piedmont Park since the venue became the host in 2011.
Music Midtown began in 1994 and ran until 2005, and returned six years later in 2011 after a decline in attendance and expenses. It returned as a one-day event and expanded in 2012 to its current, two-day format.
