Tens Of Thousands Expected At Atlanta Streets Alive This Weekend
More than 100,000 people are expected at Atlanta Streets Alive, which is set for Sunday, June 11 in West Midtown.
ATLANTA, GA -- More than 100,000 people are expected to converge on West Midtown this weekend to participate in the bicycle-centric event Atlanta Streets Alive, Patch has learned. On Sunday, June 11, Atlanta Streets Alive will take over a four-mile stretch of Howell Mill and Marietta street. That means cars will not be allowed to enter.
The festivities begin at 4 p.m. and include a parade, live music, line dancing, Zumba classes, a mini-race demo of adult-sized Big Wheels and more. Two artists will also go head to head in an "Artist Showdown" played out on 6’ X 6’ canvases.
Streets Alive is an Atlanta Bicycle Coalition initiative that aims to promote pedestrian and bicycle experiences in the city. The event ends at 8 p.m. See Atlanta Streets Alive online for more information.
