The Week Ahead in Midtown

Dave Barry. This Pulitzer Prize-winning writer will be the featured speaker at an Atlanta Press Club Newsmaker Breakfast on Thursday and will sign copies of his recent book, Insane City. Starts at 7:30 a.m. at 191 Peachtree Street. $55.

Valentine's Day at the High. Celebrate the love story of Mexican painters Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera at the opening night celebration for the exhibition "Frida & Diego" at the High. There will be live Mexican music, salsa dancing, Frida impersonators, delicious food and a couples photo booth. Starts at 6 p.m. Thursday. $25.

Youth Empowerment Parade. The A.D. King Foundation is hosting this parade that starts at noon Saturday at Washington High School at 45 White House Drive, Atlanta. 

Trivia at the Highlander. Test your knowledge about pop culture, punk rock and the Simpsons. Starts at 8 p.m. Sunday at this bar at  931 Monroe Drive NE.
