Three Arrested In Violent Midtown Stabbing, Robberies
A recent series of robberies and assaults have resulted in three teens arrested Wednesday.
ATLANTA — Three people have been arrested in connection with a violent Midtown robbery that happened over the weekend. On Wednesday, Atlanta police arrested Malica Astin, 18, Sahib Russell, 19, and Ricardo Randolph, 18, are also facing charges related to an earlier, Piedmont Park attack.
The latest attack happened over the weekend, when a man who was listening to music while walking near Piedmont Park was attacked, stabbed and robbedby a group of suspects. The victim refused to give the group his passcode to his cellphone. After the suspects fled, the victim flagged down a passerby, who called police.
The first incident occurred on July 18 at 731 Peachtree Street where the victim stated he was attacked from behind and stabbed by three suspects who demanded money from him. The victim was rushed to Grady Hospital where he was listed in stable condition with multiple stab wounds.

The three suspects arrested Wednesday are facing aggravated battery, aggravated assault strangulation, and armed robbery charges.
Police said they were able to link the suspects to a third assault and robbery on July 22, at 3338 Peachtree Road near a MARTA station. While the victim was walking towards the station, she was grabbed from behind and placed in a chokehold. Her purse was stolen, and the suspects fled the scene.
