2013 George Walton Academy Valedictorian and Salutatorian

George Walton Academy has released the names of the 2012-2013 valedictorian and salutatorian from the school.

The title of valedictorian is normally given to the student with the highest GPA, and salutatorian is given to the student with the second-highest GPA. Photos of the honorees are attached to the story.

Valedictorian: Maya Tome’, the daughter of Rawa and Bassam Tome’ will attend Georgia Tech, majoring in biology. Her high school achievements and awards include:

• Marching Bulldog Band Colorguard
• Varsity tennis
• National Honor Society 
• National Beta Club.

Salutatorian: Glenn Jacoby, daughter of Ann and Brady Jacoby, will be attending the University of Georgia. She plans to double major in biology and Spanish. Her achievements and awards include:

• UGA Foundation Fellow
• National Merit Scholar
• Walton County STAR Student
• State Winner - Literary - Extemporaneous Speaking
• 1050 acc Senior Class President
