Burglaries, thefts, Vehicle and Motorcycle Accidents in Recent WCSO Reports

This report is compiled from the Walton County Sheriff Office alerts during the period Aug. 9 - 13. 

Zone 1

• Safety Check – Walton County deputies conducted a safety check on Monroe Jersey Rd. @ H.D. Atha Rd. Deputies checked for the required driving criteria: valid driver’s license, vehicle registration and insurance.
• Extra Patrol – Extra patrol was requested on Jersey Walnut Grove Rd. in reference to vehicles drag racing in the area. 

Zone 2

• Theft – A mailbox was reported stolen on Amberstapp Studdard Rd.
• Extra Patrol – A complaint was made on Squirrel Hollow in reference to a subject riding a dirt bike on the road and private property.

Zone 4

• Burglary – Four living room tables were taken from a residence on Doster Avenue in Green Acres. Suspects have been named.
• Dispute – A subject was arrested on Jack Glass Rd. for an outstanding warrant out of Barrow County after causing a disturbance at the residence.
• Theft – A subject at Summers Landing Retirement Home reported that a wallet, with cash inside, was taken from his room. Suspects are unknown.
• Theft – Tire rims were taken off a vehicle on Gratis Rd.

Zone 5

• Damage to Property – A mailbox was damaged on Piney Grove Rd.
• Juvenile Problem - Two white males were seen throwing rocks and running across Hwy 81 near Mystic Woods subdivision; possible juveniles. The subjects were gone when Walton County deputies arrived.
• Vehicle Accident – A subject wrecked a vehicle on Grady Smith Rd. The subject fled the scene of the accident but was apprehended at Bay Creek Kennels off Hwy 81.
• Juvenile Problem – Juveniles were reportedly harassing a resident on Brookhaven Drive.
• Damage – A report was made in reference to a motorcycle being wrecked on Hwy 81 at a lot on Royal Court.

Zone 6

• Extra Patrol – Extra patrol was requested on Logans Ruff in reference to possible juveniles taking items from the yard of a residence.
• Burglary – The door to a vacant residence on Pointer Rd. was found open. No items were reported missing from the residence.

Zone 7

• Speeding Vehicles – A complaint was made on Springwood Trail in Clearwater subdivision in reference to speeding vehicles in the area.
• Alarm – Walton County deputies responded twice to an alarm on Brookstone Lane in Brookstone Estates. All windows and doors appeared secure.
• Alarm – Walton County deputies responded to an alarm on Silver Thorne Court in Silver Thorne subdivision. All windows and doors appeared secure.
• Safety Check – Walton County deputies conducted a safety check on Youth Monroe Rd. @ Broadnax Mill. Deputies checked for the required driving criteria: valid driver’s license, vehicle registration and insurance. A subject was arrested for a suspended license and a warrant out of Walton County.
• Extra Patrol – A suspicious red truck was seen around a residence on Meadow Wood Lane. Extra patrol was requested.
