Covington YMCA To Renovate Washington Street Community Center
The Covington Family YMCA will host a community service project for the YMCA Days of Service.

In celebration of the YMCA of Metro Atlanta's 160 year anniversary, the organization will host the YMCA Days of Service event. On September 14-15, the Y will gather 1,600 volunteers for 20 community service projects throughout metro Atlanta. One of those projects is the Washington Street Community Center Beautification Project.

From 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. September 15, the Covington Family YMCA will gather volunteers to help beautify the Washington Street Community Center. Volunteers will assist with interior and exterior projects, including basic handy work, painting and landscaping. Volunteers ages 18 and up are needed. The project will include light manual labor, such as yard work and painting.
When someone volunteers at the Y, he or she takes an active role in bringing about meaningful, enduring change in our community. Individuals, groups, and companies are encouraged to volunteer for the Days of Service and Y membership is not required to volunteer.
