Get Active in Downtown Monroe This Weekend

Playing in the street is usually dangerous, but this Saturday, two blocks of Midland Avenue will be closed off to vehicle traffic during an event to get residents out and active. 

Streets in Motion, an event in partnership with the Monroe Farmer's Market, promotes a healthy lifestyle by inviting families to enjoy outdoor activities and a street free of traffic in which to play. 

During the event, which will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday — the same hours as the farmer's market — stations will be set up for agility training and other physical challenges.
