New Business: Hearing Improvement Center of Monroe, LLC

The new hearing center specializes in diagnostic hearing evaluations, hear aid sales and services, diagnostics and treating for vertigo as well as hearing conservation.

Hearing Improvement Center of Monroe, LLC opened its doors on May 1, 2013. It had a Ribbon Cutting ceremony hosted by the Walton County Chamber of Commerce on May 15, 2013 and the center is planning a Grand Opening celebration on Saturday, May 18.

“Festivities begin at noon and include a free Robison’s barbecue sandwich for the first 50 guests,” said Dr. Kerry Cohen, owner of the Center.

Cohen is an audiologist who specializes in diagnostic hearing evaluations, hearing aid sales and service, diagnostics and treatment for vertigo and hearing conservation. The center offers a wide range of hearing protection and education.

According to a press release, Cohen is especially dedicated to public awareness of hearing loss and the effects of hearing loss as well as providing the best and accurate solution for each individual. This is evident in the education and resources available, the cutting-edge technology used, and the time spent with each patient. Cohen hails from New York and has practiced in Boston and Atlanta. The new practice in Monroe is located in the Great Oaks Plaza.

Kerry Cohen is a clinical doctor of audiology certified by the state of Georgia with more than 10 years of experience.  She graduated with a bachelor of science in communicative disorders and sciences from the State University of New York at Geneseo.  She earned her masters of science in audiology from the State University of New York at New Paltz.  She holds a clinical doctorate of audiology from Salus University. 

Dr. Cohen has experience working with people of all ages in a variety of setting including Keller Army Community Hospital at West Point as well as Vernick & Gopal, LLC, an otology office affiliated with Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, a Harvard teaching facility.

Dr. Cohen is a member of the Americal Speech, Language, and Hearing Association, is a fellow of the American Academy of Audiology, and also a member of the Georgia Academy of Audiology.

Dr. Cohen’s professional interests include improving hearing, treating vertigo, and hearing conservation including hearing protection and increasing public awareness of hearing loss from noise exposure. 

Dr. Cohen is originally from New York, however she has lived in Georgia for 5 years and currently resides in Athens with her husband and twin sons.
