Mrs. Betty McCants Brackett of Monroe died October 8, 2013.Â
Born in Phoenix City, Alabama, the daughter of Howard Watson McCants and Sarah Parsons McCants. She was a member of Walker Baptist Church. Mrs. Brackett attended Athens High School and worked for several years at D.F.A.C.S. She loved the Lord, her family, and making quilts.
Mrs. Brackett is survived by her husband of 58 years, Ernest Marshall Brackett, Jr. of Monroe; son, Ernest Marshall Brackett, III and wife, Ann of Wake Forest, NC; daughter Carol Lynn Brackett Puffer and husband, David of Des Moines IA; son, Gary Cook Brackett and wife, Jill of Eatonton, GA; daughter, Sarah Beth Brackett Starrett and husband, Randy of Monroe, GA; Eight grandchildren, Ashleigh Taylor Brackett, Seth Daniel Phillips, Maya Elaine Phillips Swenson and husband, Brock Swenson; Gregory Cook Brackett, Zachary Ryan Brackett, Tanner Decatur Brackett, Bradley David Starrett and wife, Sallie; Brittany Kay Starrett McGill and husband, Rev. Marcus McGill. She is also survived by her sisters, Mary Fitzpatrick, Maxine McCants, and brother, Chuck McCants.
A service was held on Friday, October 11 at Walker Baptist Church with Dr. Jeff Box officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Food Pantry at Walker Baptist Church at PO Box 885, Monroe, GA 30655.
