Coach’s season outlook: “Monroe Area has built a strong football program over the last three years. The team has won 33 games in three years and have made three straight trips to the AAAA state playoffs. The 2013 Canes have an opportunity to do the same and hopefully play in "One More Game" this season.
“The depth is a concern and we lost a four-year starter at kicker and punter. The team will have 5 to 6 sophomores in the starting line-up, which will be the key with maturity, mental and physical toughness, and experience. The 9th grade team was undefeated in 2012 with some promising players BUT they need to mature and be battle tested from the get-go.”
