Teen Mini Stock Race Car Driver Takes 2nd in Social Media Contest

Jessica Still, 14, didn't manage to overtake her opponent from Kentucky in the social media contest, but feels all the community support make her a winner anyway.

Jessica Still, the 14-year-old mini stock race car driver from Monroe, did not manage to take the top prize in a social media contest that closed on Sunday, but she and her family were thrilled at the community support.

“We did not win, but I feel like we came out winners,” Jessica’s mother Heddy Still wrote on her Facebook page. “Now everybody knows who “That Girl” Jessica Still is really about.”

Kinsey Patton from Pikeville, KY was the contest winner with 1,434 likes, winning an Esslinger valce cover and T-shirt. Jessica came in second with 1,288 likes.

“I am full of joy by all of the support we got from friends, family, local racers and even people we have never met, Heddy Still said. “We could not of even been able to stay neck and neck without everyone’s help and I truly appreciate everyone that helped us. “Y’all are the best!”

The Carver Middle School teen has been racing mini stock cars for almost a year, competing in the Young Guns class at Hartwell Speedway. You can follow her progress on That Girl Racing Facebook page.
