Week Ahead: Fall Fest, Ribbon Cutting, and Groovin' on the Green

Five things to know about the coming week in and around Monroe.

1. High temperatures will hold steady in the mid to upper 70s this week and skies will be partly to mostly cloudy, according to The Weather Channel's forecast.  The greatest chance of rain, 40 percent, comes on Saturday.

2. Join members of the Walton County Chamber of Commerce for a ribbon cutting Tuesday, Oct. 15, at 11 a.m. at Red Zone Pizza, 201 E. Spring Street in Monroe. 

3. Monroe Farmers Market vendors will join in the festivities of Fall Fest on Oct. 19 in downtown Monroe. The event, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., includes a children's costume contest, pumpkin painting, wacky hair, live music and moonwalking, among other activities. 

4. A Grayson neighborhood will hold a yard sale on Oct. 18-19 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Click here for details.

5. In nearby Loganville on Oct. 19, blues band Funky Bluester will be featured during the final Groovin' on the Green of the 2013 season.
