Work Continues On Monroe Pocket Park
The park will have benches to sit on, wireless Internet access and landscaping in the heart of the city.
Volunteers were on hand Saturday to work on Monroe's latest project - a pocket park on the heart of the city. The plan is to have it completed by Sept. 1.
According to Sadie Krawczyk, director of Monroe Downtown, the park is being built by volunteers under the guidance of the Monroe Downtown Development Authority. When complete, the park will have benches to sit on, wireless Internet access and some additional landscaping. Any volunteers interested in signing up for the next workday, scheduled for Aug. 24, can do so by clicking here.
