Movie in the Park: 'The Avengers'

The movie will show Aug. 24.

The city of Norcross will have a special movie showing this weekend of "The Avengers."

First, there will be a puppet show courtesy of Kaiser Permanente Then, at dusk, the movie will begin showing.

The event is free and open to the public.

"The Avengers" is a 2012 American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics superhero team of the same name. It stars Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark and Iron Man, a self-described genius, billionaire, playboy, and philanthropist with an electromechanical suit of armor.

Chris Evans plays Steve Rogers and Captain America, a World War II veteran who was enhanced to the peak of human physicality by an experimental serum and frozen in suspended animation before waking up in the modern world.

The film broke records with the biggest opening weekend in North America and the fastest film to gross $1 billion. It grossed $1.51 billion worldwide, and became the third-highest-grossing film.
