Norcross Firm Opens Interactive Center At SunTrust Park

SMYRNA, GA -- Norcross-based sports equipment and apparel retailer Mizuno unveiled an immersive sports entertainment venue in the shadow of SunTrust Park on Monday.

Company execs and sports luminaries were on hand for the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Mizuno Experience Center, billed as a first-of-its-kind facility in the Western Hemisphere.

Mizuno, a premiere sports gear company, is located 4925 Avalon Ridge Parkway in Norcross.

“What better place to tell the Mizuno story than our hometown. From our partnerships with Atlanta Track Club and Atlanta Braves, to creative sponsor integrations at SunTrust Park and new partnerships that will be announced shortly, Mizuno has so much to offer Atlanta as its hometown sports brand,” Mark M. O’Brien, president of Mizuno USA & chairman of Mizuno Canada, said in a statement. “We are excited to open the doors to our Experience Center and are honored to be a part of this iconic moment in the Braves’ and the city’s history.”

The site, which is adjacent to the new Braves stadium, doesn't just cater to baseball; there are experiences associated with sports such as golf, running, softball, volleyball and more.
The Braves and Mizuno first announced a partnership last fall, touting the synergy between the two brands.

Using interactive displays, RFID technology and touch screens that allow guests to test and purchase custom-made sports gear, Mizuno is aiming for an immersive environment that tells its story.

“Our goal is to provide a personalized and customized experience in a premium, one-of-a-kind environment,” said O’Brien. “The Mizuno Experience Center gives athletes the ability to find the right gear that optimizes their performance and meets their personal preferences. This is the only Mizuno center of its kind in the western hemisphere and will enable the millions of athletes from across the nation visiting The Battery Atlanta to experience Mizuno like never before.”
