Norcross Soldier Being Honored by Fort Rucker
An explosion in 2008 took Sgt. 1st Class Donald T. Tabb's life. But, his memory will live on through a special dedication at Fort Rucker in Alabama

The United States Army is honoring a fallen soldier from Norcross with a special dedication at Fort Rucker in Alabama.
It's been five years since Sgt. 1st Class Donald T. Tabb was killed in Afghanistan. A member of the 6th Military Police Detachment, Tabb is fondly remembered for his service as a military working dog handler.
And, his comrades thought it fitting to name the Fort Rucker Military Working Dog Kennels after him. They will now be known as the Tabb Kennels, according to

In the explosion that took Tabb's life, his military working dog, Bo survived. Eventually, Bo would be adopted by Tabb's family.
“After all these years, it gives us great comfort to know that his work was appreciated,” said William Smith, Tabb’s brother. “This is a great honor and we’re grateful to Fort Rucker for all the hard work that they’ve done to get it done.”
