Norcross Teachers Named Semifinalists for Gwinnett Teacher of the Year

A special committee selected a total 26 semifinalists.

Three teachers from Norcross-area schools are semifinalists for Gwinnett County's Teacher of the Year.

Gwinnett County Public Schools officials announced the complete list of 26 semifinalists on Sept. 30. The local semifinalists are:

  • Stacey Dunlap of Simpson Elementary--Media Specialist
  • Carol Williams of Summerour Middle--Mathematics Teacher (Grade 6)
  • Dr. Marietta Malone of Meadowcreek High--AP and Gifted Language Arts Teacher (Grade 12)
A special committee chose the group of teachers from a list of 130 representing individual schools.

Now, the committee will consider the semifinalists’ applications and answers to a set of additional questions in order to determine six finalists

Then on Nov. 7 the county's Teacher of the Year will be announced at special banquet.
