
   Parents interested in having their children attend a Gwinnett County
Public Schools (GCPS) charter school next school year should pay special
attention to some key dates this winter. The registration windows for the
district’s four charter schools, and a special technical education program,
soon will close.
   To date, four Board-approved charter schools operate in Gwinnett
County, offering students and families a variety of options in addition to
traditional schools. These charter schools are Gwinnett County Online
Campus; Gwinnett School of Mathematics, Science and Technology; Maxwell
High School of Technology; and New Life Academy of Excellence. In addition,
Grayson High Technical Education Program also is enrolling students for
next school year.
  ·   Gwinnett Online Campus (GOC) - GCPS’ diploma-granting, virtual charter
   school - will host informational meetings at the school’s campus on
    Jan. 23, Feb. 10, and Feb. 27 from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. for
   students in grades 4-12 interested in attending. In addition, webinar
   sessions will be available on Jan. 28 and Feb. 17 beginning at 6:30
   p.m. Registration for full-time students will be open from Feb. 1
   through Feb. 28, 2014.
  ·   Gwinnett School of Mathematics, Science, and Technology (GSMST), the
   district’s STEM-focused charter high school, will hold the final
   informational meeting for interested 8th graders on Jan. 14, 2014, at
    7 p.m. The registration deadline for rising 9th graders is Jan. 31,
   2014. If more registrations are received than available seats, the
   school will hold a public lottery February 10, 2014.
  ·   Maxwell High School of Technology begins online registration this
   week. An open house is scheduled for Feb. 13, 2014. Maxwell High
   School of Technology is GCPS’ technical/career-focused charter high
   school. Students attend classes at both Maxwell High and their local
   GCPS school.
  ·   New Life Academy of Excellence will enroll new Kindergartners this
   week,

  ·   Grayson High Technical Education Program is a career-focused special
   program housed at Grayson High. Registration for 2014-15 opens this
   week. An Open House is scheduled for Jan. 23 from 6 to 8 p.m. For
