Atlanta World War II Roundtable Meets Next Month With New Commander

The group meets at Petite Auberge restaurant in Toco Hill.

The Atlanta World War II Roundtable will meet in Toco Hill next month with its new "young" commander: a 73-year-old Sandy Springs attorney.

Lee Weinstein, a long-time member of the group that meets at Petite Auberge in Toco Hill Shopping Center, was installed last month, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

From their story:

Weinstein’s only memory of World War II was “listening to a big oversized radio when the news came over that the war was over” in August 1945. “I remember jumping up and down with the adults. It was real excitement.”

The roundtable is open to non-veterans, but 165 of its 221 members served in the European or Pacific theaters, and their ranks are thinning fast.

The group meets at the restaurant, 2935 North Druid Hills Road, on Sept. 14 at 11:30 a.m.
