DeKalb Man Arrested in Major Cocaine, Marijuana, Meth Raid

More than $1 million of contraband was recovered by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.

A DeKalb man was one of 24 people who were arrested Wednesday part of a major illegal drug raid that seized $1.5 million worth of contraband.

Gustavo Melendez, 38, is in custody, and his Druid Valley Drive apartment near Briarcliff Road was one of 22 residences that were raided, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.

More than six kilograms of methamphetamine was seized, along with more than four kilos of cocaine and 10 pounds of marijuana.

The raid was part of GBI’s Mayfield Drug Trafficking Organization takedown operation throughout northeast Georgia and portions of South Carolina. The operation ranged from as far as Lavonia and Toccoa in the northeast, to southwest Atlanta.
