DeKalb Police Investigating Buford Highway Homicide

The 45-year-old victim from Marietta was shot in the stomach Feb. 22.

A Marietta man was shot and killed in a Buford Highway apartment complex south of Dresden Park last week, DeKalb County police said.

An officer responded to Tempo Hallmark Apartments at 4153 Oak Shadow Lane following a call about a person shot at about 11:40 p.m. Feb. 22, the police report said.

The 45-year-old victim, Momodou Jatta, was lying on the ground in the parking lot. He had been shot in the stomach and was conscious and breathing.

The victim refused to give the police officer his name and said he did not know who shot him.

He was taken to Atlanta Medical Center where he later died.

A first suspect was later described as a black male about 6 feet tall with a slim build, between 30 and 35 years old, wearing a green camoflage shirt and jeans. The second suspect was described as a black male about 5 feet 8 inches tall with a heavy build, between 20 and 25 years old, wearing a gray jacket.
