Volunteers from the Lakeside City Alliance, a non-profit group of neighborhood volunteers, will take questions from the community about the pros and cons of incorporations of a new city.

Interest in a potential city has been growing over the past few months. In March, state Sen. Fran Millar (R-Dunwoody) introduced legislation that would start the process to create a city of Lakeside during the 2014 session of the General Assembly.
The legislation enables LCA to continue its community-wide meetings and to begin fundraising for a feasibility study to determine whether a city is financially viable.

LCA has proposed city boundaries of approximately 63,000, and the current map is based community input. The boundaries could change again over the next few months as the community offers ideas on what neighborhoods may be included in the potential new city.
The current boundaries include North Druid Hills Road to the south, Interstate 85 to the west and the Embry Hills community to the northeast.
LCA is seeking funds for the city’s feasibility study. Those interested in donating to the feasibility study can contribute on the LCA website (www.lakesidealliance.org) or by linking directly to: http://tinyurl.com/LCADonation
