Family Dollar Armed Robberies Part of Metro Spree?
Two of the chain stores have been robbed in North Decatur and Tucker after two others were robbed earlier this month in metro Atlanta.

We told you earlier this month about an armed robbery at the Family Dollar in North Decatur. (It included an odd request for diapers if you recall.)
Our neighboring site, Tucker Patch, told you Friday about a Family Dollar robbery in their neighborhood.
Well, we stumbled across this Atlanta Journal-Constitution story from last week as well that details two Family Dollar robberies in Atlanta that occurred the week before. Police are still trying to determine whether those robberies are related.

From the AJC story:
Shortly before 8 p.m., a man entered the Family Dollar in the 2500 block of Bolton Road in northwest Atlanta and attempted to purchase a pack of gum, according to the incident report obtained by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. When the cashier opened the register, the suspect pulled out a silver handgun and said, “Give me the money,” the woman told police.

The man then walked around the corner and grabbed about $400 from the cash drawer before walking out of the store, according to police.

Either Family Dollar is a spectacular target for armed robbers or they're connected in some way, we're thinking. But who knows.
We'll be putting a call into DeKalb County police to find out Monday.
