Georgia Weather: Freezing Start, But Warm Weather Soon

ATLANTA, GA — It's been a cold weekend, and temperatures Monday morning will be just slightly above freezing, with winds gusting as high as 25 mph. But that won't last long, according to the National Weather Service.

The winds will stay high through Tuesday, but the temperature will climb fast, with highs reaching 64 degrees Tuesday afternoon and into the upper 60s on Wednesday.

We'll settle back into the mid-50s by the weekend, with a chance for showers after a week of clear skies.

Tonight: Mostly cloudy during the early evening, then gradual clearing, with a low around 33. Northwest wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.

Monday: Sunny, with a high near 50. Northwest wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 64. West wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 66.

Thursday: Partly sunny, with a high near 61.

Friday: A 20 percent chance of showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 58.

Saturday: A 20 percent chance of showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 55.

Sunday: A 50 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 52.
