Motorcyclist Killed In Crash On Ponce De Leon In Atlanta
A motorcyclist is dead after being hit from the back early Thursday on Ponce De Leon Avenue In Atlanta.

ATLANTA, GA -- A motorcyclist who was stopped at an intersection was killed early Thursday after being hit from behind by a vehicle on Ponce de Leon Avenue, authorities said. One man is in custody in the crash, which occurred at Ponce and Clifton Road, according to news reports.

The man is custody is the driver of the silver Porsche SUV that hit the motorcyclist, Atlanta police night Cmdr. James D. Patterson told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

The motorcyclist was dead by the time officers arrived on the scene, authorities said. The identity of the driver nor the victim have been released at this time.
Ponce de Leon was shut down following the accident, but traffic is flowing again on the busy thoroughfare.
