Rain Pryor to Perform Award-Winning Solo Show in Atlanta

The daughter of comedian Richard Pryor will perform her acclaimed solo-show "Fried Chicken and Latkes" this January.

Teaming up with The True Colors Theatre Company, the Marcus Jewish Community Center in Dunwoody will present four performances of Rain Pryor’s solo-show Fried Chicken and Latkes from Jan. 15 through Jan. 17.

In her critically-acclaimed show, Pryor reflects on her experiences growing up, her acceptance of her Jewish and African-American heritages, and offers a glimpse into racism in the 1960s and ‘70s.

Held at the Fulton County Southwest Arts Center, located at 915 New Hope Road in Atlanta, the show will blend comedy, music, and poignant insight.

With her original music and lyrics, Pryor has been praised by the New York Times as an ebullient performer with a robust singing voice whose outsized personality was built for Broadway.
