Shallowford Pres. Installs New Sr. Pastor
Sr. Pastor Anna Traynham to Preach 4th Sunday of Advent, Service includes Communion
Rev. Anna George Traynham is only the fifth senior pastor in the 61-year history of Shallowford Presbyterian Church, the 1,000-member church located on Shallowford Road. She will preach on Dec. 22, the fourth Sunday of Advent, about the Christmas story in a service that will include communion - open to everyone.
Rev. Traynham came to Shallowford from Central Presbyterian Church in Atlanta where she most recently served as the acting head of staff. She holds a degree in Christian Education from Presbyterian College in Clinton, South Carolina and earned a graduate degree from Union Presbyterian Seminary where she received one of Union’s excellence in preaching awards.
She is married to Blake Traynham, her high school sweetheart, who is a Presbyterian pastor and a chaplain at Grady Memorial Hospital. The couple live in Decatur. “I am humbled to be chosen by God to serve as Shallowford’s senior pastor,” said Rev. Traynham.
