Here are the 4th of July 2017 fireworks, events and activities around metro Atlanta.
ATLANTA, GA — The Fourth of July offers a chance for families to gather together and reflect on the nation's independence. It's also a time to get out and about, checking out the numerous events and fireworks displays in your particular municipality.
On Tuesday, July 4, metro Atlanta has a slew of events and activities geared toward children and the family. Weather forecasts call for a chance of rain and thunderstorms Tuesday, but the National Weather Service says the best chances for storms will be between noon and 6 p.m. By Tuesday night, the chance of rain is 30 percent, and that will most likely happen before 7 p.m., letting fireworks displays go off as planned.

Here is a rundown of some of metro Atlanta's 4th of July events:
Alpharetta's Fireworks at Wills Park will treat families to a host of activities, including live music, food vendors and more. The event begins at dusk.

Atlanta -- Centennial Olympic Park will kick off its 4th of July Celebration at 6 p.m. The fireworks synchronized to music begin about 9:40 p.m. Gates will close once the park is full, so arrive early. Free.
Austell -- At Six Flags Over Georgia, visitors can enjoy fireworks every night during July 4th Fest.
Buckhead -- The AJC Peachtree Road Race starts and ends in Piedmont Park as part of a scenic 10K course.
Buford -- Star Spangled Fourth at Mall of Georgia will feature family-friendly activities and live music at 5 p.m., fireworks at 9:35 p.m. Also, there will be a screening of PG-rated LEGO Batman movie. Free.
Decatur -- The city will celebrate the 4th by hosting a community Pied Piper Parade. The lineup will begin at 5:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Decatur, 308 Clairemont Ave. Pedestrians should gather on the lawn and vehicles will line up in the parking lot.
Duluth -- Duluth Celebrates America will host their annual 4th of July celebration on the Town Green. The even will have music from bands, food trucks, vendors and more. Fireworks begin at 10 p.m. Attendees can bring coolers but no glass. Free.
Dunwoody -- The Dunwoody Homeowners Association and the Dunwoody Crier Newspaper is inviting families out for its annual Fourth of July Parade, which will feature marching bands, floats, clowns, animal units and local celebrities.
East Point -- The city's Salute to the Red, White and Blue celebration will feature a carnival, food court, live music near City Hall. The fireworks will begin at 9:30 p.m. Attendees can bring blankets and chairs, but no food or pets. Free.
Marietta -- The city's Fourth in the Park celebration features a 10 a.m. parade, live music, arts & crafts, food, and carnival games at Marietta Square, followed by fireworks launched from First United Methodist Church about 9:30 p.m. Free.
Norcross -- Red White & BOOM! in Lillian Webb Park will lay out an extravaganza for families, including bounce houses, food trucks, DJ music from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m., and fireworks at 9:25 p.m. Free.
Stone Mountain -- Stone Mountain Park's Fantastic Fourth Celebration will include a spectacular laser show and then fireworks. Free except parking.
Roswell -- Fireworks Extravaganza opens at 5:30 p.m. and will have live music, fireworks at more family fun dark at Roswell High School. Free.
The city of Atlanta's offices will be closed for the holiday, with solid waste pick-up delayed.
