Cobb Health Director to Lead Regional Agency

Dr. John "Jack" Kennedy will be interim director of the North Georgia Health District.

The director of Cobb & Douglas Public Health has been tapped to lead the North Georgia Health District on an interim basis.

Dr. Jack Kennedy will have dual roles. He'll guide the Dalton-based health agency until a permanent health director is named and remain with Cobb & Douglas Public Health, said Jennifer King, the spokesman for the North Georgia Health District.

The vacancy at the North Georgia Health District was created when Dr. Harold Pitts, the leader since 2005, resigned. The agency covers Cherokee, Fannin, Gilmer, Murray, Pickens and Whitfield counties.
