Marietta Announces Citizen’s Police Academy
Beginning July 27, classes for Marietta's Citizen's Police Academy will be held every Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m. for 11 weeks.

MARIETTA, GA -- Qualifying residents of Marietta are invited to join in the Citizen’s Police Academy, police announced Tuesday. The classes will be held Thursdays from 6 to 9 p.m. for 11 weeks beginning July 27, the Marietta Police Department said.
The Citizen’s Police Academy will educate residents on the ins and outs of police work in the city, including an overview of the various crime prevention programs. The classes will encompass an overview of several relevant law enforcement topics such as narcotics, special weapons and tactics (SWAT), crime analysis, the K-9 Unit, crime scene processing and more.
To be admitted into the free 11-week program, residents and property owners must pass a background check.
Applications are available at the Marietta Police Department on 240 Lemon Street, or online at mariettaga.gov.
