Northeast Cobb Road Work Update

Here's the latest information provided on Friday by District 3 Cobb Commissioner JoAnn Birrell: 

Road Resurfacing
Asphalt paving operations - which include lane closures though one lane will remain open at all times - are **scheduled next week (Saturday, Nov. 2 and Monday, Nov. 4 through Friday Nov. 8) on the following road: EXPECT DELAYS

• Sewell Mill Road from Roswell Road to Johnson Ferry Road 

Shiloh Road/Shallowford Road Construction

The contractor is planning to work Saturday (Nov. 2) installing storm drainage and asphalt paving between Wade Green Rd. and Busbee Pkwy depending on weather. The contractor is not planning to work Sunday (Nov. 3).

• Shiloh / Shallowford Road From Wade Green Road to Canton Road – Monday, Nov. 4 through Friday, Nov. 8 Expect periodic lane closures from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. with one lane open while the contractor continues asphalt paving operations from Wade Green Rd. to Bells Ferry Rd. EXPECT DELAYS

New Chastain Road Westbound Bridge Replacement
The contractor is not planning to work this weekend (Nov. 2-Nov. 3).

• New Chastain Road over Noonday Creek - Monday, Nov. 4 through Friday, Nov. 8. New Chastain Road is open to traffic - two lanes in each direction. The project is substantially complete and contractor will continue punchlist work.

Shallowford Road Sidewalk Construction

The contractor is planning to work Saturday (Nov. 2) placing concrete for drainage structures with lane closures. The contractor is not planning to work Sunday (Nov. 3).

• Tanbark Place to Blackwell Rd.- Monday, Nov. 4 through Friday, Nov. 8. Expect periodic lane closures from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. with one lane open while the contractor continues grading operations, placing concrete sidewalk, and asphalt paving.

Roswell Road (SR120) Construction - GDOT
Providence Rd to Robinson Rd - Periodic lane closures from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with one lane remaining open in each direction at all times. EXPECT DELAYS

North Marietta Parkway @ I-75 Bridges - GDOT
Road closure on N. Marietta Pkwy between Wallace Rd and Cobb Pkwy from 11 p.m. Friday night, Nov. 1, to 5 a.m. Monday morning, Nov. 4. This GDOT project is to replace the concrete slabs under the I-75 overpass and will include the closure of both I-75 ramps.  

Skip Spann Connector (Busbee-Frey Connector)
This proposed project is a new bridge over I-75 that connects Frey Road to Busbee Drive just north of Chastain Road. A roundabout is proposed at the intersection of the Skip Spann Connector and Busbee Drive.
