Payroll Handler Accused of $173K Theft

Patty Jean Holmes is charged with giving herself bonuses from Northeast Cobb's Hyperbaric Physicians of Georgia.

A payroll manager for a Northeast Cobb doctor's office was arrested last week and accused of giving herself $172,733 in unauthorized bonues, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.

Patty Jean Holmes, 47, of the 1200 block of Skyview Circle in Mableton spent a little more than two days in the on felony charges of theft by taking and fraudulent computer use, jail booking records show.

Holmes added 30 payroll bonues to her directly deposited paychecks between September 2010 and December 2011 while working for on the northeasten edge of Marietta, the AJC said, citing the arrest warrant issued for her April 25.

She was arrested that night in Calhoun County and released early Saturday on $50,000 bond.
