There was an overwhelming response from the community to ‘adopt’ a senior. Staff suggested a $50 limit, but we know that some givers went way over. One client is even receiving a new wheelchair! When Senior Services workers arrived at the person’s home they played holiday music on a loud speaker. Everyone jumped out of their cars and danced while the gifts were delivered. One man was so touched he cried. Others came out and danced with the staff to classic holiday songs. Next week the department will be celebrating again with more “Senior Santa” drop-offs.
