Suspect Indicted In Pappadeaux slaying In Marietta

Cobb officials indict Dylan Marquis Ledbetter in slaying outside Pappadeaux restaurant.

MARIETTA, GA -- Law enforcement officials in Cobb County recently indicted a suspect in the fatal shooting of a man outside a popular seafood restaurant in Marietta. Dylan Marquis Ledbetter was indicted Friday on multiple charges, including malice and felony murder along with assault and robbery charges, according to court documents.

Ledbetter has been in jail for several months since the attack, which investigators allege was committed with the the help of Demarious Greene, who is in jail in Cherokee County.

In October, Anthony and Cynthia Welch were leaving Pappadeaux restaurant on Windy Hill Road when Cobb investigators said two men walked up to them and opened fire. Anthony Welch was fatally wounded in the shooting. His wife had her necklace snatched off the neck in the brazen attack, as Patch previously reported.

After the Pappadeaux slaying, investigators said that Ledbetter and Greene went on a crime spree that included robbing a customer at gunpoint in the parking lot of the Outlet Shoppes at Atlanta.

At a Shell gas station, Cobb police tried to pull over a vehicle driven by Ledbetter but he allegedly tried to run over officer before they fired upon him, striking him several times in the arm and leg. He was then taken to a local hospital where he was treated and booked into the Cobb County Detention Center.
