Update: Woman with Alzheimer's Safe

Evelyn Satterfield, 81, who drove away from her Northeast Cobb home around 2 p.m. Monday, ran out of gas in Commerce.

Evelyn Satterfield is safe.

The 81-year-old Northeast Cobb resident, who has Alzheimer's, was found by a Commerce police officer around 9 p.m. after her family's silver 1998 Buick LeSabre ran out of gas along Interstate 85.

Satterfield is unhurt, and her family is driving the 80 miles to pick her up and bring her home.

An 81-year-old Northeast Cobb woman with Alzheimer’s is missing, and the has asked the Georgia Bureau of Investigation to issue a Mattie’s Call to help find her.

Evelyn Satterfield of the 900 block of Velma Drive disappeared around 2 p.m. Monday while her husband was out of the home for a short time, police spokesman Sgt. Dana Pierce said.

She is believed to have driven away in a silver 1998 Buick LeSabre with Georgia license plate 491-NRY.

Satterfield is a 5-foot-4, 184-pound white woman with hazel eyes and brown hair. She was wearing a green shirt when she was last seen.

Police ask anyone with information about her location to call 911 or the Crimes Against Persons Unit at 770-499-3945.
