August 4 BOC Meeting Highlights
The Oconee County Board of Commissioners held its regular meeting on Tuesday, August 4, 2020. The following actions were taken at the meeting:
- Approved amendments to the ordinance regulating the sale of alcoholic beverages Â
- Approved revisions to the animal services ordinance
- Approved Special Use P20-Â0106 for ±2.9 acres located south of Maxey Road and west of Sunshadow Lane to allow a landscaping services business on AG-zoned property less than three acres in size
- Approved Rezone P20Â-0108 for ±7.2 acres located northeast of Greensboro Highway from AG (Agricultural District) to AR (Agricultural Residential) with one condition
- Approved Special Exception Variance P20Â-0105 for ±0.75 acres located north of Mars Hill Road and south of Fieldstone Road to allow a reduction of the rear setback for an accessory structure and to allow for an accessory building exceeding 1,000 square feet of gross floor area
- Approved Special Exception Variance P20-Â0126 for ±0.87 acres located at the intersection of North Macon Hwy and Athens Ridge Boulevard to reduce the side setback for a principal building
- Appointed Heather MacBeth to the Animal Services Board
- Appointed Nathan Byrd and Charles Hunt to the Planning Commission
- Appointed Richard Ashmore, Dan Moore, Giles Moree, and Wesley Scott to the Recreation Advisory Committee
- Authorized the Chairman of the Board of Commissioners to pursue Coronavirus Relief Funds
- Approved a new alcohol license application for Los Primos Taqueria Express, Inc., located at 7990 Macon Highway, with Elias Hernandez as the Registered Agent
- Approved the Georgia Department of Transportation Local Administered Project (LAP) Certification and Title VI Non-ÂDiscrimination Agreement
- Approved Water Resources Kundell Environmental Management Internship Grant Agreement through the Association County Commissioners of Georgia Civic Affairs Foundation to include a match from Water Resources in the amount of $1,200.00
