Briar Lakes Dam in Danger of Failing

Per Oconee County Fire Rescue and Oconee County Public Works, the dam in Briar Lakes is in danger of failing, potentially cutting off access to homes on Briar Lakes Court.

Residents on Briar Lakes Court are encouraged to leave now or risk being trapped in their homes, according to Oconee County Sheriff’s Office.

OCFR and deputies were attempting to make contact with residents Tuesday afternoon.

There doesn’t appear to be any danger to other areas.
