COVID Cases Continue To Climb In NE Health District

Area hospitals report large drop in the number of patients with the COVID-19.

Below is a summary of COVID-19 data on Thursday for Oconee and Clarke counties and for the entire 10-county Northeast Health District.

  • The Northeast Health District added 57 new cases of COVID-19, and the seven-day rolling average of added cases increased for the fourth day in a row.
  • The District added three confirmed deaths, and the seven-day rolling average of added confirmed deaths remained unchanged.
  • Both Oconee County and Clarke County reported an increase in the seven-day rolling average of added cases of COVID-19.
  • Area Hospitals reported only 24 COVID-19 patients, the lowest number since June of last year.
  • Oconee County continues to lead the 10 counties in the District with 23.7 percent of its population fully vaccinated.
