NE Health District Adds 64 COVID Cases, Two Deaths From Disease

Both of the reported deaths were in Oconee County.

Below is a summary of COVID-19 data on Saturday for Oconee and Clarke counties and for the entire 10-county Northeast Health District.

  • The Northeast Health District added 64 cases of COVID-19, and the seven-day rolling average of added cases decreased slightly.
  • The District added two confirmed deaths from COVID-19, and that seven-day rolling average also decreased slightly.
  • Both of the new deaths from the virus were in Oconee County.
  • The seven-day rolling average of added cases increased in Oconee County but decreased in Clarke County.
  • The number of COVID-19 patients at area hospitals decreased by three from Friday.
  • Oconee County, with 27.1 percent of its population fully vaccinated, leads the Northeast Health District in vaccination rates.
