NE Health District Has Drops In COVID Cases, Deaths From Disease

Oconee County leads the 10-County Northeast Health District in vaccinations.

Below is a summary of COVID-19 data on Friday for Oconee and Clarke counties and for the entire 10-county Northeast Health District.

  • The Northeast Health District added 65 COVID-19 cases, and the seven-day rolling average of added cases decreased.
  • The District added four confirmed deaths from COVID-19, and the seven-day rolling average of added deaths fell.
  • Two of the added deaths were in Clarke County.
  • The seven-day rolling average of added cases in Oconee County fell, while the rolling average in Clarke County increased.
  • The percentage of Oconee County’s population fully vaccinated is 21.1, the highest in the District. Clarke County’s figure is 15.0.
  • Georgia continues to be the state with the smallest percentage of its population fully vaccinated. That figure is 15.2.
