Oconee County Seeks Applicants for Citizen Advisory Boards and Committees

OCONEE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS

ADVISORY BOARDS & COMMITTEES

NOTICE OF APPOINTMENTS

The Oconee County Board of Commissioners is seeking citizen applicants for appointments to the following:

Oconee County Board of Health: One appointment to start January 1, 2021 and expire December 31, 2025 Members aid the Board of Health in recognizing and making citizens aware of ways to prevent and suppress disease and harmful health conditions. Meetings held quarterly on the second Wednesday at 3:30 pm at the Oconee County Health Department, 1060 Experiment Station Road, Watkinsville.

Oconee County Farmland Preservation Committee: One appointment to start January 1, 2021 and expire December 31, 2023. This committee is responsible for ranking Oconee County farms submitted for potential farmland preservation funds. Qualified applicants may have experience in the area of farming or agriculture, and farmland preservation. Meetings are held on an as-needed basis, generally concentrated in the months of July thru December.

Oconee County Library Advisory Board: Two appointments to start January 1, 2021 and expire December 31, 2025. Members review and approve budgets, establish policies governing library programs, and present financial and progress reports. Meetings held quarterly on the second Monday at 4:30 pm. Location varies between Oconee Library, 1080 Experiment Station Road, Watkinsville and Bogart Library, 200 South Burson Avenue, Bogart.
