Oconee Reports Third COVID-19 Death At Area Care Homes In Two Day

The rolling average of added COVID-19 cases decreased.

Below is a summary of COVID-19 data on Tuesday for Oconee and Clarke counties and for the entire 10-county Northeast Health District.

  • The Department of Community Health reported two deaths from COVID-19 at an Oconee County personal care home.
  • The deaths follow the report by the Department of Community Health of death at a separate long-term care facility in Oconee County on Monday.
  • The Department of Public Health did not report any “confirmed” deaths in the 10-county Northeast Health District, which includes Oconee County.
  • The Department of Public Health listed only 35 new cases of COVID-19 in the Northeast Health District, and the seven-day rolling average of added cases decreased.
  • Area hospitals reported an increase in COVID-19 patients for the second day in a row.
  • North Oconee High School reported the fifth positive COVID-19 test in the school over the last seven days.
