Rolling Average Added COVID Cases Continues To Grow In District

Both Oconee and Clarke counties report increases in the rolling averages of added cases of the disease.

Below is a summary of COVID-19 data on Wednesday for Oconee and Clarke counties and for the entire 10-county Northeast Health District.

The Northeast Health District added 79 COVID-19 cases, and the seven-day rolling average of added cases increased for the third day in a row.
The District added only one confirmed death from COVID-19, and the seven-day rolling average of added deaths declined.
Both Oconee and Clarke counties reported increases in the rolling averages of added cases.
The District is lagging the state in the rate of COVID-19 vaccination, with15.9 percent of the population fully vaccinated, compared with 17.0 percent at the state level.
The Department of Public Health is using a trick in computation of vaccination data that overstates the rate of distribution of the vaccines locally and across the state.
