Below is a summary of COVID-19 data on Wednesday for Oconee and Clarke counties and for the entire 10-county Northeast Health District.

- The District added only one confirmed death from COVID-19, and the seven-day rolling average of added deaths declined.
- Both Oconee and Clarke counties reported increases in the rolling averages of added cases.
- The District is lagging the state in the rate of COVID-19 vaccination, with15.9 percent of the population fully vaccinated, compared with 17.0 percent at the state level.
- The Department of Public Health is using a trick in computation of vaccination data that overstates the rate of distribution of the vaccines locally and across the state.
