Rolling Averages Of Added COVID Cases, Deaths Rise In District

Oconee county added no new cases, however, and Clarke County added only five. In both counties, the rolling average of added cases dropped.

Below is a summary of COVID-19 data on Monday for Oconee and Clarke counties and for the entire 10-county Northeast Health District.

  • The Northeast Health District added 40 COVID-19 cases, enough to push up again the seven-day rolling average of added cases.
  • The addition of two confirmed deaths increased the seven-day rolling average of added deaths as well.
  • Oconee County did not add a single case of COVID-19, the first time the county has added no cases going back to Nov. 3. The rolling average fell.
  • Clarke County added only five cases, and its rolling average of added cases also declined.
  • Area hospitals reported a decrease in the number of COVID-19 patients.
  • In Oconee County, 21.9 percent of the population is fully vaccinated, compared with 14.5 percent in the Northeast Health District. The figure in Clarke County is 15.9.
