There will be water stations at the beginning, middle, and end of the race — you’ve got to stay hydrated!

Also, Jason’s Deli will again have a delicious spread awaiting you at the finish.

Swag will be provided: BDR race T-shirt, entry to pre-race and post-race festivities, medals for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers in all age groups, party beads for fun run participants, and raffle prizes (only runners can register!).

Don’t forget to bring your friends! Spectators can have no shortage of fun while they watch the runners navigate through the neighborhoods and enjoy the music and festivities.

Founded by former Norcross High School student athlete and current UGA student Amelia Watson in 2011, the race was taken over by Norcross High student athlete Eliza Antonowich, who began preparations as race director for the 2013 race.

Eliza, now a 16-year-old junior, USATF certified the race last year and is excited to direct her third race.

She states, “the money raised helps pay for NHS’ cross country/track & field uniforms, meet fees, travel expenses, equipment, and opportunities to participate in out-of-state competitions. The support from our community is astounding and we appreciate their commitment every year.”

The 2014 race was the biggest yet with over 350 participants.

Huge shout outs go to our major sponsors: SunTrust and The Forum’s New Balance and Jason’s Deli.

Thanks also to the YMCA (games for the young inside the gym); Hamilton, Westby, Antonowich & Anderson; Norcross Sports Training Academy; Nancy Minor Real Estate, Bardi Heating and Air, Generations Financial, and Gold’s Gym. Raffle prizes include gift cards and items from restaurants, athletic stores, and area businesses. Get grooving to the music before the 5K. Need a massage? Touchstone Therapeutic Massage will again be on hand to give sports massages. Starbuck’s on PIB will again serve coffee and expect a special visit by the Chick-fil-a cow!
