Police Release Photos of Armed Bank Robbery Suspect

Gwinnett Police said the suspect fled on foot after the alleged robbery Thursday morning at a SunTrust location on JCB.

Gwinnett Police have released surveillance images of a suspect wanted for Thursday morning’s bank robbery on Jimmy Carter Boulevard.

The robbery was reported around 11:30 a.m. at the SunTrust location at 5950 Jimmy Carter Boulevard in unincorporated Norcross.

According to a news release, the teller told police the suspect handed him a piece of paper demanding money, then lifted his shirt to show the grip of a handgun when he got impatient. The teller was the only employee who knew the robbery was occurring at the time.

The man walked out the door with an undisclosed amount of money.

Police canvassed the area, but was unable to locate the suspect.

Suspect description

  • Race/Sex: Black Male
  • Age: 25-30 years old
  • Height: approximately 6-1
  • Weight: approximately 140 lbs., thin build
  • Clothing: dark blue plaid shirt, dark blue hat with unknown logo, blue pants

Due to the report of the suspect showing the teller a handgun, the FBI also responded to the incident location to assist with the investigation.

Gwinnett County Police are investigating a reported bank robbery Thursday morning on Jimmy Carter Boulevard.

The incident happened around 11:30 a.m. at the SunTrust Bank location at 5950 Jimmy Carter Blvd.

“The suspect had a weapon and demanded money. He was seen leaving on foot. There are no injuries. Members of the Robbery Unit are on scene and the Crime Scene Unit is on their way,” Gwinnett Police Public Information Officer Cpl. Michele Pihera said in a news alert sent around 12:30 p.m.
