Fire Damages 2 Condo Units in Peachtree Corners
The fire in the wall between two units was apparently started by sparks from a saw being used during renovation work.

Two condominium units in Peachtree Corners were damaged by an accidental fire sparked by renovation work late Thursday morning.
Gwinnett firefighters responded at 11:17 a.m. to a four-unit condominium building on Holcomb Bridge Road near Crooked Creek Road.
The fire was under control by 11:52 a.m. No injuries were reported.

Gwinnett Fire Capt. Tommy Rutledge said the fire was located inside the wall between two adjoining units.
“The fire appears accidental and was caused when sparks from a saw-blade ignited the dust particles and insulation in the wall,” Rutledge said in a news release. “A contractor was doing renovation work and was cutting a hole in the wall at the time the fire erupted.”

The two units will need repair before they can have tenants. The residents in the other two units were allowed back in after the area was cleared.
