Freezing Atlanta Lows Will Hit The 20s This Week
Morning wind chills will make it feel even colder, with the metro area possibly getting freezing rain and sleet this weekend.

ATLANTA, GA — Metro Atlantans will be waking up to some frigid temperatures the next few days as a cold front blows through the area.
By 6 a.m. Thursday, low temperatures are expected to dip below the freezing mark, with wind chill making it feel like 22 degrees.
And it will be even colder Friday morning, according to the National Weather Service.

While that will make for some bitterly cold pre-Christmas weather, it's this weekend when things could really get dicey.
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Outlook for metro Atlanta for Friday night into Saturday morning.
There's a 50 percent chance of rain starting Friday night. That's when, the weather service warns, we could be seeing sleet, freezing rain and a wintry mix — particularly in the mountainous north Georgia regions.
The low for Friday night is only forecast to be 39 degrees. So, if the area does see that slight bit of warming, it could be just regular rain we're dealing with.
There's a 70 percent chance of showers on Sunday, but a warming trend is forecast to have pushed temperatures up out of the freezing zone by then.
