Here's a look at your metro Atlanta weather forecast for the coming week, including a look at the chances of rain and storms on July 4th.

ATLANTA, GA — It's the question everybody is asking — is it going to rain on the Fourth of July?

The answer, from forecasters, may be a little frustrating. In metro Atlanta, the chance for rain on Tuesday is shaping up as a definite maybe.

Here's what we do know: There's definitely a chance of showers and thunderstorms on Tuesday. The National Weather Service says there will be a 40 percent chance of rain during the day, mainly after 11 a.m.

As for Tuesday night, when many of us will be hoping to see fireworks fill the sky, the chance for rain drops to about 30 percent.

The best bet at this point is to not cancel your plans because of the weather forecast, but to bring along an umbrella just in case.

The rest of the week is shaping up pretty much the same in the Atlanta area. There will be a chance of showers and thunderstorms every single day. High temperatures are expected to be in the upper-80s, with lows at night dropping to the low 70s.

Monday: A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 10 a.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 86. Monday night, a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 10 p.m. Partly cloudy, with a low around 72.

Independence Day: Scattered showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 11 a.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 89. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent. Tuesday night, a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 2 a.m. Partly cloudy, with a low around 73.

Wednesday: A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 8 a.m. Partly sunny, with a high near 88. A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms Wednesday night. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 73.

Thursday: A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly sunny, with a high near 88. A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms Thursday night. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 72.

Friday: A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly sunny, with a high near 87. Friday night, a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly cloudy, with a low around 72.
